Kylie Minogue Busy With CD, Children's Book And Boyfriend

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has overcome the breast cancer she was diagnosed with last May and is looking forward to recording a new CD, publishing a children's book and starting a family.

Minogue was forced to cancel the Australian leg of her sold-out Showgirl tour and other concert dates last year as she underwent months of chemotherapy treatment in Australia and France, the homeland of her actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez. The 38-year old credits Martinez and her family for helping through her recovery. Minogue has started recording tracks for a new album.

"I'm still taking things slowly, but I've had a great week in the studio and things couldn't be any better," she said in an article in Britain's Life Style Extra.

There has been rampant speculation that Minogue and Martinez are planning to tie the knot with two weddings, one in Australia and one in France to appease each family. Minogue also claims to be "broody," which apparently is a term for wanting a child.

"It hasn't happened yet, but I hope it will some day," she said in an interview with Sky.com.

Following in the steps of celebrities like Madonna, Jamie Lee Curtis and Spike Lee, Minogue will publish her first children's book in September through Puffin. The picture book is titled Showgirl Princess and draws on the author's experiences during her rise to fame. It features exclusive photos of the singer taken by longtime collaborator William Baker as well as some illustrations.

Organizers are hopeful that Minogue will play next summer's Glastonbury Festival in England after she was forced to cancel her headlining performance last year.
