Black Crowes Bring Unreleased Material Into Spotlight

The Black Crowes will continue to expand their southern rock legacy with the release of previously unheard material and re-recorded tracks from some of their past albums.
The Lost Crowes, a two-disc set of music originally put to tape in 1993 and 1997, will hit stores on Aug. 29 via Rhino. The first disc is titled The Band Sessions and features 10 songs recorded in Nashville in '97 that were originally intended as the follow-up to Three Snakes & One Charm. It includes an early version of "By Your Side" called "If It Ever Stops Raining." The second disc is called The Tall Sessions and showcases 16 tracks, seven of which are early recordings of songs that would eventually make it on to 1994's Amorica.
The DVD debut of the band's 1992 Who Killed That Bird On Your Window Sill home video will also reach stores on Aug. 29. It presents a behind-the-scenes look at the Crowes' early years as well as in-studio and live footage.
