In celebration of her 25th birthday on September 4, pop sensation Beyonce will release her appropriately titled B'Day album to North American fans the next day.
Beyonce co-produced, wrote and arranged the follow-up to her 2003 solo debut, Dangerously In Love, with help from co-producers Rich Harrison, The Neptunes and Swizz Beatz. Lead single "Deja Vu" features a guest appearance by her boyfriend Jay-Z and production work from Rodney Jerkins.
Beyonce's Dreamgirls movie is set for release on December 22. The film was directed by Bill Condon (Gods & Monsters, Kinsey) and also stars Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Danny Glover. The soundtrack will feature music by Beyonce.
This has already been a big year for Beyonce. She won her ninth Grammy Award for a Stevie Wonder duet called "So Amazing," her movie, The Pink Panther, debuted at #1 at the box office, and her "Check On It" single topped the Billboard 100 while becoming the top-selling single and ringtone in the U.S.
When Beyonce's former group, Destiny's Child, played their final show last June, they retired as the top-selling all-female recording group of all time, according to the World Music Awards.
Dangerously In Love sold more than 11 million copies worldwide and earned Beyonce five 2004 Grammy Awards. That tied the record for the most Grammy wins by a female artist in one year. Dangerously In Love and its "Crazy In Love" single also made history when they both simultaneously hit #1 on the U.S. and U.K. charts.
