Arctic Monkeys Will Have New Bassist For Canadian Shows

British sensations the Arctic Monkeys will be without bassist Andy Nicholson for their upcoming North American tour.
"Owing to fatigue following an intensive period of touring, Andy Nicholson shall be taking a rest and will not be accompanying Arctic Monkeys on their forthcoming tour of North America," the band explained in a statement.
Nick O'Malley, the former bassist for U.K. band the Dodgems, will take Nicholson's place on the tour. The band hope to have Nicholson back in the lineup for their European dates this summer, which include the T In The Park, Reading and Leeds festivals.
The Sheffield quartet first made a major name for themselves last October when their "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" single debuted at #1 on the U.K. singles chart. Their Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not album did the same thing earlier this year and set a sales record by moving almost 120,000 copies on its first day of release.
Arctic Monkeys will play these Canadian dates on their tour:
May 27 Vancouver, BC @ Commodore Ballroom
June 16 Montreal, QC @ Medley
June 17 Toronto, ON @ Kool Haus
