Loose Ends: T.I. Violates Probation, Danger Doom Releasing Online Tracks And Jewel Appears On The Y&R

T.I.

Rapper T.I. cancelled his Japanese tour after he was briefly jailed in Atlanta on May 10 for failing to perform community service in Florida in connection with convictions for assaulting a law enforcement officer, trespassing and disorderly conduct at a Tampa mall in 2003.

He was originally sentenced to 18 months probation and 75 hours of community service, but 150 more hours were added a few months later when he breached his probation by driving with a suspended licence.

A spokesperson for T.I. said that the artist also wanted to take a break and regroup following the shooting death of his friend and assistant Philant Johnson earlier this month in Cincinnati.

Danger Doom, the duo comprised of Danger Mouse and MF Doom, are making tracks for a new EP available through the Cartoon Network's AdultSwim.com site. "Korndogs" can be downloaded now, and eight more tracks and skits will be made available each week for the next two months.

Jewel has just released her Goodbye Alice In Wonderland album, and she'll promote it by singing the songs "Again And Again" and "Good Day" on The Young And The Restless on May 31.

As part of the show, the singer/songwriter will perform at a fundraiser hosted by the soap opera characters Nick and Sharon Newman to mark the first anniversary of their teenage daughter's death in a drunk-driving accident. Jewel will also make a public service announcement for Mothers Against Drunk Driving at the end of the show.

D12 plan to go ahead with a new album despite last month's shooting death of member Proof.

The group will enter the studio next month after another member, Swift, is released from jail for a probation violation. The new album will feature some of the last rhymes written by Proof, who will appear on some songs that were recorded before his death. Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, G-Unit and Busta Rhymes are expected to contribute to the record. D12's first two albums have combined to sell more than three million copies.

A house purchased by Elvis Presley in 1956 has been acquired by a group led by psychic Uri Geller for $905,100 U.S. in an eBay auction.

Presley bought the Memphis house with a down payment of $500 and lived there for 13 months before he moved to Graceland. Geller met Presley in the '70s in Las Vegas, where the King asked him to perform his spoon-bending trick. The former Tonight Show favourite has since assembled a large collection of Presley memorabilia.
