Metric Co-ordinate Dog Day Afternoon Festival

If Broken Social Scene can organize a summer music festival at Toronto's Olympic Island for this summer, Metric figured that they could go two better and put together three fests of their own.
The band will headline Dog Day Afternoon in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal for three days in July. Fiery Furnaces and Holy Fuck will join Metric on all three stops, while Secret Machines and Electric Six will be part of the Toronto and Montreal shows. There's still hope that Al Pacino may show up somewhere.
"We've played a lot of festivals in the past," says Metric's Jimmy Shaw. "We've spent a lot of time backstage talking about what we'd do if we had the chance.
"Well, we figured now we do, so let's make a festival of our own — one that's for us and for the fans. Dog Day Afternoon is about everyone, bands and audience alike, going home energized after the same experience. Everyone hanging out with their friends and having a great time on a hot, sunny summer afternoon. It's about recognizing the newfound respect Canadian music has had on a world level and celebrating it here at home. We put it together ourselves and we hope you like it."
Ticket prices range from $26.50 to $40, depending on the location.
Here are the dates for Dog Day Afternoon:
July 14 Ottawa, ON @ Ottawa Bluesfest Mainstage
July 15 Toronto, ON @ Fort York
July 17 Montreal, QC @ The Old Port
