Seether Go Acoustic On One Cold Night

Now that Seether have developed a solid heavy rock following, the South African band are ready to throw folks off track with the release of a live acoustic CD/DVD this summer.

One Cold Night, which was recorded at Philadelphia's Grape Street club on Feb. 22, will be released on June 27 by Wind-up Records. The CD features hits from the band's gold-certified Disclaimer, Disclaimer II and Karma & Effect albums, as well as a cover of Pearl Jam's "Immortality."

The DVD features an interview with the band by WMMR Philadelphia's Pierre Robert, the video for the current single "The Gift," behind-the-scenes footage from the Oaxaca, New Mexico video shoot and photos from the Grape Street concert.

The venue holds a special place in guitarist Pat Callahan's heart because it's where he met Seether's Shaun Morgan and Dale Stewart. That encounter led to Callahan's successful audition for the band.

"This is an experience for us to have some fun and present our music in a different fashion," says Morgan, Seether's singer and main songwriter. "It is amazing for us to be able to play the same heavy songs in a more intimate environment.

"We love it because we feel a connection with the audience and they can understand and listen to every chord that comes from the stage. It's always fun to just mix it up, and that's what we're all about."

Seether are supporting the album's release with a 14-show headlining Canadian tour. Here are the dates:
