Korn To Release Live And Rare Album

Korn

Korn will release their first live album — featuring seven songs from their 2003 free CBGB show in New York City, a slew of covers and more — on May 9.

Korn: Live & Rare is being billed as a companion to the band's 2004 Greatest Hits Vol. 1. It features covers of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall," Metallica's "One" and "Earache My Eye" by cannabis cultists Cheech & Chong. There's also a live version of the b-side, "Proud," and "Gift" and "A.D.I.D.A.S." from the band's set at Woodstock '99. The album's release will fall in between Korn's current tour and another one that will follow this summer.

"It's going to be even larger," singer Jonathan Davis told MTV News. "And we'll be out with different bands but still have the cheap ticket prices. Our deal is allowing us to keep the prices low."

Korn signed a revenue-sharing deal with Live Nation, which The New York Times reported is paying approximately $3 million U.S. for an estimated six per cent stake in the group's box office, licensing, publishing, merchandise and CD revenue for its recent Virgin album, See You On The Other Side, and its follow-up.

The band recently released a video for the second single from See You On The Other Side, "Coming Undone." Little X, best known for directing hip-hop videos, created the clip.

"We liked the way he shoots artists and his camera angles, and he came up with the best idea," said Davis. "It's a performance video, but it's really, really cool."
