New Releases: Dresden Dolls Say Yes And Fiery Furnaces Brew Bitter Tea

You probably just finished spinning The Dresden Dolls' self-titled debut when word came that the band's new record was ready.
Yes, Virginia wasn't, however, written in haste. Singer Amanda Palmer says it was written over a very long period of time and that some of the tracks pre-date the band. Of course, we'll never know how they even found time to record it amidst touring with Nine Inch Nails and playing every festival this side of Fiji. The new LP drops on Tuesday.
Another band who've been absolutely prolific lately are the Fiery Furnaces. After releasing their divisive oddity, Blueberry Boat, they put out a stellar EP and capped off 2005 by delivering the weirdest album of the new millennium, which prominently featured the singing of their tone-deaf grandmother. This week they release another collection of sonic weirdness, Bitter Tea.
Montreal may no longer be the "it" scene, but that isn't stopping the city's bands from producing the best music in the country. Hot on the heels of Islands' debut come labelmates The Lovely Feathers, who release Hind Hind Legs on Tuesday. If a more assured first effort comes along this year, colour us surprised.
One of 2004's biggest buzz acts are back with their sophomore record. Secret Machines set themselves apart from the likes of Kings Of Leon with their unique brand of indie and electronic sounds. They're going for more of a sonic rock approach on Ten Silver Drops, which you can find on store shelves this week.
Other releases this week include Drive-By Truckers' A Blessing And A Curse, LL Cool J's Todd Smith, NOFX's Wolves In Wolves Clothing and Aiden's Our Gang's Dark Oath.
