EMI Music Canada will add to their "Best In The World Ever" CD series with the April 4 release of The Best Beer Drinking Album In The World... Ever! Volume III — Poker Night.
The compilation follows 2004's The Best Beer Drinking Album In The World... Ever! and last year's The Best Beer Drinking Album In The World... Ever! Volume II — The Second Round.
The current popularity of poker has hit tables and televisions everywhere, so EMI has come up with 18 songs that it believes relate to the trendy card game and also make a solid soundtrack for the multiplying poker nights going on across Canada.
EMI has teamed up with The Party Poker Canadian Poker Championship to market the album. The tournament, featuring the best players from Canada and around the world competing for the title of Canadian champion, was shot on location at the Atlantis Resort And Casino in the Bahamas. The television show began a 10-week run on Global Television, CH TV and The Men's Channel on March 5 and will run for another 10 weeks through July and August.
Canadian band Idle Sons will further bridge the connection by being featured on both the TV show and the album.
