Double Dose Of Al Jourgensen On The Way

Al Jourgensen

It's going to be a busy year for Texan industrial musical powerhouse Al Jourgensen. Not only are his band, Ministry, set to unleash Rio Grande Blood on May 2, but he just released a new album by The Revolting Cocks as well.

Jourgensen will pull double frontman duties when the two groups tour together across North America this spring before heading to Europe to play some summer festival dates.

Rio Grande Blood, the follow-up to 2004's anti-George Bush and Iraq war Houses Of The Mole, will be released on Jourgensen's 13th Planet Records label. It picks up where the last album left off and continues his assault on the state of affairs south of the border.

"We kind of have this administration that's just a little bit arrogant and very transparent, as far as their agenda," Jourgensen told RollingStone.com. "This little war going on overseas, the little Iraq thing, that's kind of got my goat too."

The Jourgensen-produced album features contributions from ex-Prong guitarist Tommy Victor, former Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven and drummer Mark Baker. Former Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra makes a guest appearance.

The Revolting Cocks' Cocked And Loaded was released earlier this month. It also features an impressive roster of guests, including Biafra, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, The Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes and Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander.

Here's the track list for Rio Grande Blood:
