New 50 Cent Album Put On Hold By Eminem

50 Cent

50 Cent may be one of the biggest names in popular music, but even gangsta rap superstars have to listen to those in authority.

He has an album's worth of material which he intended to release on July 18 before his boss — Shady Records mogul Eminem — told him to set it aside.

"My motivation wasn't really right," 50 told MTV News while filming the video for Mary J. Blige's"Enough Cryin'" single last week. "I get a little frustrated from time to time and I got so much material that I make that isn't being heard that I was like, 'Yo, I just wanna release an album again.' And he was like, 'Nah, you gotta wait.'

"I don't care about none of that [timing], I just want the record to go out, but it just makes better sense to take our time and recreate the new album."

Despite his satisfaction with the songs that would have been released, don't expect any of them to make the cut when the follow-up to the Juno Award-nominated The Massacre is released.

"By the time the summer passes, the music that I planned to release will be dated to me and I'll have so many new ideas that I wanna write something else," said Fiddy (real name Curtis Jackson).

Between songwriting, performing, marketing his fashion line and pleasuring the ladies, it's a wonder that Fiddy still has time for his day job heading the G-Unit record label and its roster, which includes Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and the newly signed Mobb Deep. All of them have albums set for release within the next four months.
