Loose Ends: New Music From Fefe Dobson, Arctic Monkeys And Danko Jones

Fefe Dobson's sophomore album, Sunday Love, will be released by Island/Def Jam on June 20.
The 21-year-old Toronto singer co-wrote lead single "This Is My Life" and two other songs with Billy Steinberg (Madonna, Cyndi Lauper). She also co-wrote two songs with former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5, while Ben Grosse and Matthew Wilder both contributed to the album's production. Dobson's self-titled debut was certified platinum in Canada.
The Arctic Monkeys are on a roll, and they plan to take advantage of it by releasing a new EP with four new songs and one old one.
Who The Fuck Are Arctic Monkeys will feature "The View From The Afternoon" from their Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not debut along with "Cigarette Smoker Fiona," "Departure Lounge," "No Buses" and the title track. The EP will be released in the U.K. on April 24 and should be available in North America soon afterward.
Danko Jones have made three songs not on the group's recent Sleep Is The Enemy album available for download from eMusic.
The radio version of "First Date," "Sex" and a cover of Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up" are on the site along with "Baby Hates Me," which will be featured in the opening sequence of World Wrestling Entertainment's Wrestlemania 22 pay-per-view event on April 2. The extravaganza will be seen in more than 90 countries and the song can also be found on the WWE's website. Sleep Is The Enemy will be released in the U.S. on May 23.
The Meligrove Band's Planets Conspire album will be released in the U.K. by V2 Records on July 3. "Everyone's A Winner" will be released as a seven-inch single on June 26. The Toronto group will be spending all of April playing shows across Canada.
A Whisper In The Noise were attacked at knifepoint by two thugs on March 28 outside of Neumos in Seattle as the group were loading their last piece of gear into their van before hitting the road after opening for Arab Strap.
The dynamic duo tried to snatch gear and get into the van and also tried to slash the vehicle's tires. When they were confronted by the band members and their road manager, one of the men pulled a knife on them and the other punched the tour manager in the face, knocking out his front teeth. He spent the night in the hospital having his teeth replaced with a temporary bridge. Police arrived on the scene after the perpetrators ran off yelling, "Welcome to Seattle, motherfuckers!"
No arrests have been made, but if you have any information about the assailants, call the Seattle Police Department at (206) 684-4300.
Los Angeles City Council has voted unanimously to approve a $1.1 million U.S. payment to the family of slain rap star Notorious B.I.G. due to errors made by police in a wrongful death case brought against the city and the Los Angeles Police Department.
A mistrial was declared last July after it was discovered that a detective withheld documents that were pertinent to claims made by Biggie's family. A retrial is expected later this year. The money will cover legal fees and other expenses incurred by the family's lawyers.
Biggie (real name Christopher Wallace) was 24 when he was shot and killed after leaving a party in L.A. on March 9, 1997. His murder remains unsolved.
We recently reported on how Victor Willis, the original cop from The Village People, was on the run from the law.
He was finally arrested on March 26 after a five-month search when he was pulled over for a routine traffic stop in Redwood City, Calif. Though police say that cocaine and drug paraphernalia were found in the car, and that Willis gave a false name to them, he pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges of drug-possession and giving false identification to a police officer.
Willis, 54, was the subject of a bench warrant after failing to show up for a sentencing hearing related to drug and weapons charges in October. He's scheduled to return to court on April 10.
Willis was arrested for cocaine possession last July and agreed to a plea bargain that would have maximized his prison sentence at 16 months. But after his no-show and subsequent evasion of the law, he now faces a maximum 52-month term.
Willis returned to the public eye in an unwanted way when he was featured in an episode of America's Most Wanted in December.
