Austin City Limits Festival Coming On CD And DVD

Kaiser Chiefs

The Austin City Limits Music Festival has been around since 1976, but in the past few years highlights have been featured on CD and DVD. Some of the best moments from last year's festival will be released by Image Entertainment on June 20 as two separate double-disc packages.

The CD set features performances by such artists as The Black Keys, Tortoise, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, The Decemberists, Steve Earle And The Dukes, The Black Crowes and The New Amsterdams.

The DVD package features many of the same performances as the CD along with 14 artist interviews (some conducted by fans), bonus performance footage and four short documentaries on Amublance LTD, Blues Traveler, Ruthie Foster and Roky Erickson.

This year's festival will run from September 15 to 17 at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. Though the lineup hasn't yet been announced, the festival's website is promising eight stages and 130 acts. Last year's fest attracted 65,000 attendees over three days and nights.
