Coldplay Confirm That They're Not Breaking Up

You didn't really think Coldplay were breaking up or going on hiatus, did you? With the mega-success of X&Y, the Twisted Logic Tour, the Brit Awards and the Grammy Awards, someone in the band would have to pull a Geri Halliwell to call it quits at this point.
Well, don't worry. They're not splitting up. Band members have been spilling the beans on new material and studio plans to NME.com, which should help lay to rest speculation fueled by Chris Martin's strange Brit Award acceptance speech where he declared "it's going to be a few years before you see us again."
Drummer Will Champion revealed to NME.com that the band already have an entire album's worth of new material and want to head into a studio to start recording. Instead of flying around the planet to different studios, the boys are looking into building their own permanent facility in London to record in.The follow up to X&Y might be headed a bit into Radiohead territory, according to the description given by bassist Guy Berryman to NME.com.
"I don't want to generalize it and say, 'We're going to become electronic' because I don't think we're going to become truly electronic. I think there's going to be elements of lots of things. I always like our next record to be a bit harder sounding. Not rock harder — just edgier."
Coldplay will stop in at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on March 22 and 23 and will perform in Halifax on April 2 as part of the Juno Awards show, where X&Y is nominated for international album of the year.
