Yes, Virginia, There's A New Dresden Dolls Album

The Dresden Dolls

The Dresden Dolls will have something for both your ears and eyes this spring. The unique Boston duo will release Yes, Virginia, their second album for Roadrunner Records, on April 18. More dedicated Dolls fans who need a faster fix will be able to get it through The Dresden Dolls' Companion Songbook at the end of this month.

Amanda Palmer (piano, vocals) and Brian Viglione (drums) have previously described their sound as "Brechtian punk cabaret." Yes, Virginia will be a rock record without guitars. The album would have been without cover art, too, if it wasn't for a call to fans to make submissions. They came through for the group, so the front of the CD will be comprised of the best of what was received. The book consists of some 200 pages of sheet music, guitar tabs, never-before-seen photos and the stories behind the songs. It will be accompanied by a DVD featuring an interview with Palmer. If you've ever read one of her blogs, you'll know that she has a lot to say.
