Homme And Goss' 5:15ers Have No Songs Three Weeks Before Debut

Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme and musician/producer Chris Goss will make their first appearance together as the 5:15ers on February 26 at Arthur Magazine's Arthurball at Echo in Los Angeles. The concept for the dynamic duo has existed for 10 years. When Goss' friend Jay Babcock from Arthur asked them to play a part in the two-day festival, Goss and Homme thought that the time had finally come to make their debut.
Since the 5:15ers haven't composed any songs yet, the first gig will likely incorporate a lot of improvisation and covers to make up for that important deficiency. Although Goss said that they'll be doing more shows after the Arthur performance and that there are album plans in the future, he's not sure how to describe their sound. But he's certain that they won't sound like anything that either of them have previously released.
"[It will be] something that's neither Masters Of Reality or Queens Of The Stone Age," Goss told Billboard.com "This one will be more 'art fag.'
"Goss and Homme have been rubbing elbows since the early '90s when Goss produced albums for Homme's pre-QOTSA band, Kyuss. He's also been involved with Homme's Desert Sessions projects.
Goss is finishing work on the newest UNKLE album, which also features Homme and The Distillers' Brody Dalle, who recently had a baby together. Goss is also involved with the debut album from Goon Moon, featuring ex-Marilyn Manson/Perfect Circle bassist Jeordie White (a.k.a. Twiggy Ramirez).
