Listen To Pirate Radio With The Pretenders

Now that The Pretenders have been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, it's only right that they should have a career-spanning boxed set on the market.
Pirate Radio, featuring four CDs and a DVD, will be released by Rhino on March 14. The collection will feature album tracks, rarities and previously unreleased items from Chrissie Hynde and the various members that have passed through the band since 1978.
The first disc includes a previously unreleased demo of "Precious," the U.K. single version of "Talk Of The Town" and a demo of "Watching The Clothes." "The Wait," "Brass In Pocket," "Message Of Love" and a cover of The Kinks' "Stop Your Sobbing" — all highlights from the group's 1980 self-titled debut — help round out the CD.
Disc two features the hits "Back On The Chain Gang," "Middle Of The Road" and "Don't Get Me Wrong," alternate versions of "Hold A Candle To This" and "When I Change My Life," and the previously unreleased "Tequila," "Reconsider Me" and "Worlds Within Worlds."
The third CD offers a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Bold As Love," live versions of "Private Life," "Lovers Of Today," "Criminal," "Revolution" and Radiohead's "Creep," as well as a demo of "Every Mother's Son."
There are more live tracks on disc four, including "The Homecoming," "Up The Neck" and "Fools Must Die." Also listen for covers of Morrissey's "Everyday Is Like Sunday" and Neil Young's "The Needle And The Damage Done."
The DVD features material from 1979 to 1995 and includes performances from the BBC's Top Of The Pops, NBC's The New Show and the 2003 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
The Pretenders will be interviewed and then perform at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas in mid-March and will follow that up with their first series of live dates since 2003 with shows on the U.S. west coast and concerts in New York, Atlantic City and London, England.
