New UNKLE Album To Feature Josh Homme, Ian Astbury And Others

 UNKLE

Details about UNKLE's follow-up to 2003's Never, Never, Land are surfacing.

James Lavelle, creator of the now-in-limbo Mo'Wax Records label and the brain behind UNKLE, is currently working on the new and still untitled album. It's being mixed in London, England and is set for a summer release.

A stellar lineup of guests is contributing to the album. Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme, who was part of Never, Never Land, will return for another vocal offering. Homme's fiancee, and new mom, Brody Dalle (The Distillers) and regular QOTSA collaborator Chris Goss are also on board. The Cult frontman and Jim Morrison wannabe Ian Astbury recorded vocals for three songs on the album and Los Angeles rock band Autolux also worked on a track.

UNKLE have done remix projects for the likes of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Tortoise in addition to releasing two albums of their own. The group will play Australia's Two Tribes electronic music festival later this month.
