On The Road Again: Default, Oliver Black, D.O.A. And Tupelo Honey

Default and Oliver Black are launching a major Canadian tour together on Thursday night. Default, the Vancouver rock band that enjoyed considerable success with their first two albums, are on the road in support of last fall's One Thing Remains LP. Their TVT labelmates, who were originally from Toronto but moved to Austin, Texas after signing their deal in 2004, will release their debut album this spring. Canadian punk godfathers D.O.A. recently returned from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where they were featured in a documentary titled American Hardcore about the early '80s punk scene. With their movie star status now in place, the group will play a series of shows in western Canada in support of War On 45 (March To The End). Edmonton rock quintet Tupelo Honey, the 2005 Canadian Music Week Xtreme Band Slam champion, recently finished mixing five new tracks to go along with last year's six-song EP. You'll be able to hear most of that material in the coming days and weeks as the band cover the prairies and Ontario. They'll open for Theory Of A Deadman from February 23-27 and will be part of the Chart Canadian Music Week showcase at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on March 2. Here's the group's full itinerary:
