A Northern Chorus is still touring in support of last year's Sonic Unyon album, Bitter Hands Resign. If you like dreamy, atmospheric pop music, try to get to one of these shows:
February 15 London, ON @ Alex P. Keaton Theatre w/Polmo Polpo
March 5 Montreal, QC @ La Salla Rossa
March 7 Ottawa, ON @ Irene's Pub
March 8 Quebec City, QC @ TBA Venue
March 28 Vancouver, BC @ Railway Club w/ Jonathan Inc. and Great Aunt Ida
March 29 Golden, BC @ Packer's Inn
March 30 Calgary, AB @ Liberty Lounge
March 31 Saskatoon, SK @ Amigos
April 1 Winnipeg, MB @ Art space in Exchange DistrictApril 2 Thunder Bay, ON @ Kilroys
Since the second album from Winnipeg's Paper Moon is titled Broken Hearts Break Faster Every Day, it's ironic (in a non-Alanis Morissette sort of way) that Endearing Records will release it on Valentine's Day. The group sounds a lot like The Cardigans and the new disc's "String Of Blinking Lights" was co-written by Ivy's Andy Chase, so that should give you an idea of the kind of material you can expect to hear at these gigs:
February 16 Toronto, ON @ The Drake w/Julie Doiron and Aaron Booth
February 17 Brantford, ON @ Ford Plant w/Julie Doiron
February 18 London, ON @ Alex P. Keaton Theatre w/Julie Doiron (4 p.m.)
February 18 Guelph, ON @ Club Vinyl w/Julie Doiron (8:30 p.m.)
March 2 Toronto, ON @ Reverb w/Republic Of Safety, Gentleman Reg, Femme Generation and Vail Halen
James McKenty & The Spades are co-producing their new album with The Tragically Hip's Gord Sinclair. The follow-up to their Burning On Fumes debut is scheduled for a late April release, but you can check out the Peterborough, Ontario group's vintage '60s influenced rock at these clubs before then:
February 2 Oshawa, ON @ Catch 22 w/Lens Haulage
February 3 Sudbury, ON @ Towne House w/Ben Sures
February 4 Sault Ste. Marie, ON @ Down Beat Lounge
February 16 Toronto, ON @ Revival w/The Daftnees
