Every Time I Die Almost Do

Every Time I Die

Alt.metal/hardcore quintet Every Time I Die were involved in a van accident in Wyoming in the very early morning hours of January 5, forcing them to miss some American tour dates with Story Of The Year.

The band were traveling along the I-80 highway around 2:30 a.m. when they ran into an icy patch that sent their van cartwheeling off the road.

"We really should have died," singer Keith Buckley related in a statement."We want to thank the Laramie, Wyoming police department for arriving at the speed of light maple syrup. Within the blink of an eye [for someone in a 45-minute coma] they [I mean he] was on the scene — belittling, yelling, arguing and refusing to let us stay warm in his police car. We thank god for keeping us relatively injury free, since it wasn't until an hour and a half later that we arrived at the hospital to get x-rayed and have our urine sampled, which was fucking weird because nobody else had to donate a sample except me and the nurse stood behind me — yelling — the entire time and she made me pee into an empty tissue box instead of a cup."

None of the band members were seriously injured, but they were told to lay low for five days to give their aching muscles and bruises time to heal. The group will rejoin Story Of The Year on January 11 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and they'll play the Theatre Capitole in Quebec City on January 24 and the Spectrum in Montreal the following night.

Every Time I Die will continue to support last year's Gutter Phenomenon album by performing with Haste The Day at the Phoenix in Toronto on March 5.

Buckley has apparently been using his down-time to catch up on NFL news, and he's quite pumped about the most recent activities of southern Ontario's favourite team.

"Marv Levy is back with the Bills organization," he enthuses."The Bills make me wanna shout! Almost as loud as an injury suffered in a terrible van accident."
