The Killer In You: A Tribute To Smashing Pumpkins has been selling steadily since its digital release through online retailers last month, so the album will come out on CD on January 31.
The album is packed with such heavy bands as Armor For Sleep, A Static Lullaby, Poison The Well and Roses Are Red, who were all influenced by the Chicago band led by Billy Corgan that went on to become one of the biggest groups of the '90s before disbanding in 2000.
"Smashing Pumpkins was one of the first rock bands I ever loved," says Roses Are Red singer Vincent Minervino. "When I first got the tape of Siamese Dream, I remember being blown away by the power and majesty of the songs — especially 'Cherub Rock,' which we covered for the tribute."
Until someone releases a tribute to prop comic Gallagher in honour of his storied history of smashing watermelons with a sledgehammer, this album may be as good as it gets for giving props to destroying vegetables and fruits.
