Audioslave's New LP Will Both Kick And Shake Your Ass

Audioslave's new LP doesn't have a firm title or release date yet, but guitarist Tom Morello describes it as "Led Zeppelin meets Earth, Wind & Fire."
The record, which could potentially be called Revelations, will feature the trademark Audioslave heavy-riffing hard rock sound. But the inclusion of '70s funk and soul elements will offer something new for fans.
Morello joined frontman Chris Cornell, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk in writing 20 tracks for the new album, some of which were played during their last U.S. tour. Sixteen were recorded in the studio over three weeks with producer Brendan O'Brien, who mixed the band's 2005 release, Out Of Exile, and has previous experience with the group members through his work on Soundgarden's Superunkown and Rage Against The Machine's Evil Empire and The Battle of Los Angeles.
Morello told MTV News that tracks he's sure will be featured on the CD are "Until We Fall," "Moth," "Revelations," "One In The Same," "Sound Of A Gun," "Shape Of Things To Come," "Broken City," "Original Fire" and "Wide Awake," which is said to be Audioslave's most political song ever.
"It's a scathing condemnation of the Bush administration's failures in the wake of Hurricane Katrina," said Morello. "It's a sad, powerful and angry song."
