The Game Teams Up With Dr. Dre For New Album

The Game

The Game may be beefing with his former crew, but he's still on Dr. Dre's good side.

"Dr. Dre makes good music," The Game told MTV.com. "Eminem, 50 Cent, myself, we all sell records, we're all proteges of Dr. Dre. So me and 50's beef stays outside and we don't bring it in the house." The rapper has already been in the studio with Dre recording his forthcoming album, The Dr.'s Advocate. Producers Kanye West, Just Blaze, Timbaland and Scott Storch have also been working on the disc. The Game and his former friends in G-Unit would be smart to take some advice from Jay-Z and Nas, who buried the hatchet recently. But that doesn't look like it's going to happen. The Gane was so angry earlier this year that he verbally attacked 50 Cent and G-Unit during performances and even recorded a 15-minute track full of insults aimed at them.

Still, The Game insists that he's "already looked past" the feud and is moving forward by focusing on his new album. But when you get "G-Unot" shaved into your hair, it's kind of hard to believe that you're over anything.

The Dr.'s Advocate will also feature contributions from Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden, who seem to be all over the map these days. Earlier this year, they contributed to the somewhat premature greatest hits collection by Joel's girlfriend, Hilary Duff.

Since The Game lives on the same street as the Maddens, we suppose that it's only right that he use them on his album. "It's just gangsta-rap punk rock," The Game says of their collaboration.

"It's been done before on a bigger scale with Run-DMC and that thing they did back in the day with 'Walk This Way,' so it's just mixing the music genres, having fun. And those are my neighbours. I always jump over the back fence and walk in the studio and they're always making good music back there."

Newcomer Technice, who's signed to The Game's Black Wall Street label, is also expected to appear on the album. The Game says that The Dr.'s Advocate should be out in early April.
