Bono Joins Pearl Jam On Stage In Toronto

Bono

It's official — Bono loves Toronto. He loves it so much that he just won't leave and he'll find any excuse, even joining Pearl Jam on stage the day before a U2 concert in Chicago, to stay in the city.

During Pearl Jam's rousing rendition of Neil Young's "Rockin' In The Free World" Bono, with tambourine in hand and Stetson on head, ran up on stage to belt out the song's chorus with Eddie Vedder. With The Edge and Larry Mullen Jr. looking on, U2's frontman also sang a verse, made up a few nonsensical rhymes and pranced around the stage banging his tambourine.

While the crowd understandably lost their shit when Bono hit the stage, this collaboration wasn't really that surprising.

On Saturday night, during U2's last of four Toronto shows, Vedder joined Bono to sing "Ol' Man River" so it was only natural that the B-Man would return the favour. As well, Vedder thanked U2 on numerous occasions throughout the set for being so awesome, even joking that U2 opened for Peal Jam all week. Finally, the biggest hint that Bono might sing a bar or two was that all of U2, minus Adam Clayton, were watching PJ's entire set from the side of the stage.

This memorable rock collaboration only lasted for a few minutes, but gauging fan reaction, seeing these two rock 'n' roll heavyweights sing together will likely be talked about for years.
