Ladytron Sign With Rykodisc To Release Witching Hour

Ladytron

The synth-driven sounds of electronica/rock four-piece Ladytron have been snapped up by Rykodisc, who will release their third album Witching Hour, on October 4 in North America.

Fittingly for an electronica/pop pushed band, the first single "Sugar" was made available back in April for digital downloading. Billboard.com reports the cosmopolitan guy/girl group have come up with 14 new tracks of dark, pulsating rhythms, dance beats and soaring emotion.

On the band's official website, Ladytron say they have been "experimenting" and "enlarging" their sound for the new record, to progress from 2002's Light And Magic.

Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu, the two DJ's from Liverpool and the European funksters Helen Marnie and Mira Aroyo are known for cool haircuts and style-defying fashion, but the band are always trying to avoid being categorized or generic. Their new material is described on their website as "shades of Young Marble Giants, early Stereolab and the Cocteau Twins."

Here is the track list for Witching Hour:
"High Rise"
"Destroy Everything You Touch"
"International Dateline"
"Soft Power"
"CMYK"
"AmTV"
"Sugar"
"Fighting In Built Up Areas"
"The Last One Standing"
"Weekend"
"Beauty*2"
"White Light Generator"
"All The Way""(Untitled)"
