Ever Cheery Liam Gallagher Says A Bunch Of Popular Bands Suck

You always know there's a new Oasis album out when Liam Gallagher starts berating the U.K.'s most successful acts. This time, his targets include Franz Ferdinand, Pete Doherty, The Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party.

In an interview with NME.com, Gallagher dissed Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos, saying that he reminds him very much of one-hit wonder Right Said Fred. Gallagher thinks Kapranos and Right Said Fred are the same person (it should be noted that Right Said Fred were actually two people who looked the same). He also called Franz's music "nonsense, million miles an hour music that's not going anywhere."

Gallagher then went on to rip on Pete Doherty, formerly of The Libertines, saying he's a "smackhead."

"He's fucking in the corner doing smack with a helmet on his head!" said the foul-mouthed rocker. This is, of course, news to nobody. Doperty is a self-confessed addict.

New Yorkers and U.K. chart-toppers The Scissor Sisters were the next to be subjected to Gallagher's offensive ranting. According to the egotistical singer, The Sisters are weirdos on stilts (well, they are). However, Gallagher may have crossed the line when he commented that he'll "rip his fucking vocal chords out any day because he's fucking rubbish," presumably talking about Scissor vocalist Jake Shears.

Next on Gallagher's blacklist were The Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party. According to Gallagher, The Kaiser Chiefs sound like a bad version of old rivals Blur and Bloc Party are reminiscent of a band from University Challenge.

So, ultimately the question becomes, with all of these bands that Gallagher detests, is there anyone at all that he likes? Of course there is!

Proving that he's the ultimate taste-maker, the hot-tempered singer likes Charlotte Church.

"She has a great voice and she fucking has it," Gallagher said.

Just so we're all straight here, Gallagher hates Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party and The Scissor Sisters, but loves Charlotte Church. Something here isn't quite right, methinks.

Oasis' new record, Don't Believe The Truth, is scheduled to hit stores on May 31. The first single, "Lyla," is due out on May 16.
