C-Murder Changing His Name And Sues The State Of Louisiana

From here on out, the rapper formerly known as C-Murder will no longer be going by that name. On Tuesday, his publicist announced that the artist, whose real name is Corey Miller, will now be going by C-Miller.
Miller's currently facing a life sentence for second-degree murder of a 16-year-old in New Orleans, and he thinks his alias has been giving people the wrong impression. C-Murder was supposed to mean that he'd seen many murders in the projects where he grew up.
Miller said he's been targeted because of his name and the success of his family Rapper/CEO Master P and rapper Silkk The Shocker are Miller's older brothers.
While he was busy changing his name, lawyers for Miller devised a new plan of attack to get the rapper's case retried. They announced Wednesday that they've filed a suit against the state of Louisiana.
The president of the local NAACP, Ernest Johnson, claims that Miller's civil and constitutional rights were ignored when he was denied a new trial by the Appeal Court. He said Miller's being discriminated against because he's a criminal defendant and said he's been denied access to visit Miller in prison.
Miller's lawyer Ron Rakosky said this is the first time in history that a new trial's been denied after a judge reviewed the case and found that many legal errors occurred during the first trial. Rakosky said he's willing to reveal the court's problems to the public if nothing is done. In a statement from Miller, he said he doesn't want any special treatment, just a fair trial.
