Royal City Wear Their Hearts On Their Sleeves

While some speculated that Aaron Riches' migration to the United States would spell the end of Royal City, we're happy to report that the Three Gut Records mainstay are alive and well and preparing a new album.
Three Gut will release RC's third album, Little Heart's Ease on June 8. The album will come out in the U.K. and the U.S. through the ever-prestigious Rough Trade Records.
Little Heart's Ease follows 2000's At Rush Hour The Cars and 2001's much-heralded Alone At The Microphone. The Three Gut people are calling Little Heart's Ease a happier, more joyful record, full of songs of hope and love.
If you're looking for a taste of Riches' new songwriting style, check out the album's first song on the Three Gut website.
Don't expect a big homecoming Toronto show on the day of the album's release, though. Royal City will spend all of June touring Europe, focusing on Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Holland and the U.K. You can, however, catch them as part of the Three Gut fourth anniversary celebration, which will go down at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on May 28 and 29.
Royal City, Gentleman Reg and Cuff The Duke will play on the 28th and Jim Guthrie, Oneida and The Constantines will rock it up on the 29th.
Here's a tracklisting for Royal City's Little Heart's Ease:

"Can't You"
"Cabbage Rolls"
"My Body Is Numbered"
