Ted Nugent Rips Open Own Leg With Chainsaw

Motor City Madman Ted Nugent has managed to escape losing a limb after a chainsaw tore through his leg leaving him with a wound requiring 40 stitches.
According to the Associated Press, the mishap occurred during the taping of the Nuge's VH1 reality series, Surviving Nugent: The Ted Commandments, at his multi-acre compound located outside of Waco, Texas.
True to his tough outdoorsman persona, Nugent didn't let the incident keep him from completing the series, which is scheduled to air in April. Instead of calling it quits, Nugent sported a leg brace during the remainder of the show's taping.
The shootin' and huntin' enthusiast will star in the new series emphasizing pure survival skills and manly toughening-up. The current series is a spin-off of the original two-hour special which aired in October 2003 on VH1. There's no word yet if the series will be carried on a Canadian channel.
In the first version of Surviving Nugent, seven individuals contended against each other in a series of tough-guy competitions such as getting shot with paint-balls, sleeping in a barn, constructing their own outhouses and skinning a Russian boar — all for the top prize of $25,000 and a truck.
The contestants, who Nugent affectionately nicknames "the monkeys," were systematically eliminated from the competition by the rocker. Always the family man, the new series includes appearances from the Nuge's wife Shemane and son Rocco. The family will be joined by Nugent's henchmen ranch hands Big Jim and Big John, who will also be keeping the contestants on their toes as they compete for a reported grand prize of about $100,000 U.S.
Nugent, best known for his classic rock anthems "Cat Scratch Fever," "Stranglehold" and "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang," has made quite the impression for his pro-gun, pro-right wing tendencies.
The aging musician, who still occasionally enjoys rocking out, has also turned to other pursuits in the past few years. Nugent is a lifelong member of The National Rifle Association and was elected to the group's Board Of Directors in 2001. The Nuge also penned his own biography, God, Guns, & Rock 'N' Roll, which made it onto the NY Times Best Seller List in '01.
