Not By Choice, Ryan Malcolm Get Ready For Some Football

Not By Choice

People who enjoy the combination of Canadian university football games and Canadian musician performances will be happy to know that the two will come together at this year's Vanier Cup (the Canadian Inter-university Sport football championship game) on November 22 in Toronto.

The SkyDome event, which is being dubbed "Toronto's Great Canadian Party," will begin at 3 p.m. with the championship game between Canada's top two university football teams as they compete for the coveted Vanier Cup. But the party doesn't end with the game. When the sport is over, it's all about the music.

After fans have spent the day cheering for their choice team, they can head out to Roundhouse Park and spend the evening cheering on Canadian bands Not By Choice, Pilate and Shaker. The post-game concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for both the game and the concert are available at the Vanier Cup website or 1-866-4-VANIER.

For those of you who can't make it to the actual event, you can always catch it on the tube. The 39th Annual Vanier Cup will be broadcast live across the nation on TSN/RDS. On a similar note, if you like the music-football combination, don't miss the Grey Cup on November 16.

Although it won't be the big post-game concert event like at the Vanier Cup, Canadian Idol Ryan Malcolm will receive his share of exposure as he hits the field to sing the national anthem in both English and French. The CFL's Grey Cup game will take place in Regina, but you can watch the game and Malcolm's "O Canada" performance wherever you may be in Canada, as the CBC will broadcast both events nationwide.
