Avril Lavigne Headlines CTV Canada Day Programming

Just in case you missed her during the MMVAs this weekend, Canada's favourite skater girl, Avril Lavigne, will once again be gracing TV screens across the country. To celebrate our country's vast amount of talent, CTV will be airing some Canadian music specials. The specials will air at 9 p.m. on Canada Day (July 1).
The night kicks off with an hour-long concert special called, Try To Shut Me Up, featuring live concert footage from Avril Lavigne. The special will show live renditions of songs from Avril's hit record Let Go, including "Sk8er Boi" and "Complicated." The filming was done during her most recent tour of North America.
Then at 10 p.m. CTV will broadcast a 2003 Junos concert celebration. This special is a compilation of stage performances filmed in Ottawa during the 2003 Juno Awards. The show will be hosted by Canada's country sensation Shania Twain (who also hosted the Juno ceremony) and will feature a live performance from Avril Lavigne as well as Chart's current cover star Sam Roberts, Swollen Members, Remy Shand, Alanis Morissette and Blue Rodeo. The show will also feature a performance from the latest addition to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Tom Cochrane.
