The Dears To Play Canada. Lots.

Those of you who got a taste of The Dears when they opened up for Matthew Good earlier this spring (or those of you who didn't want to pony up the money to sit through a Good concert) are in luck.
The Montreal pop noir band/ChartAttack favourites have added more dates to their increasingly humungo tour. If you live anywhere in Canada (save for the far Northern reaches), you have no excuse not to go see The Dears this spring. The band already played their CD release party in Toronto last weekend, but they'll be playing another T.O. gig next week at Club 279, above the Hard Rock Cafe. It's a free show presented by 102.1 The Edge, but the catch is, you've got to win to get in. Tune into The Edge or swing by the station's website for more info.
Speaking of big shows, The Dears will also be playing something called Summer Stage in New York City's Central Park. The band will be joined by a bunch of other boss Canadian acts like Sarah Slean, Daniel Lanois and fellow Montreal pop darling Rufus Wainwright. That show will happen on June 29 at 4 p.m. For more deets, check out the Summer Stage website.
