Mutek Brings Bleeps To Montreal

The Mutek Festival is returning with a fourth edition that is said to be better than ever before.
From May 28 to June 1, Mutek will be putting on a festival in Montreal with over 60 artists from 15 countries around the world. Five fun-filled days with artists that want to be robots.
Day one will see Germany's own Pole take the stage. Stephan Betke (a.k.a Pole) — a Berlin engineer who has elevated the dub craft of hypnotic basslines and echoes to the status of art — will show off his talent.
The U.K.'s Coil will perform the following day, giving the audience a taste of the European experimental and electronic music. Coil have been around since the '80s, when they put out their debut album, Scatology.
Canada's own Richie Hawtin (a.k.a. Plastikman) will take the stage on May 30, giving the audience some techno beats. Mutek will give the audience a taste of the south when Chile's Senor Coconut performs on May 31. Santiago's fun-loving Latin playboy will take the stage with some electro-latino beats. This playboy is an ambient techno artist whose sound is German-bred and Chilean-based.
The final day of the festival will feature another great Canadian artist, David Kristian of Montreal. One of Canada's premier experimental techno-artist, Kristian has released materials on labels such as Discreet/Indiscreet, Suction, Drop Beat, Ninja Tune and many more.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased online beginning April 15. A Mutek passport is available for $150 (plus tax), and will admit you to all concerts. A weekend pass is also available for $80 (plus tax) which will allow you to concerts on May 30 to June 1 only.
Accommodation information is also available online at the Mutek website. Tickets will be available until May 24.
