Fleetwood Mac Share Their Dreams With NBC

Even though they've long preached going your own way, Fleetwood Mac have never been considered even vaguely indie rock.

The supergroup were rallied against by the anti-corporate punk rock movement of the '70s, they were the pet group of Bill Clinton when he ran for president in the '90s and now they're promoting their upcoming album with a very "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" deal with NBC.

But, despite their big industry sleaziness, we still think the Mac kick ass and deserve your respect.

Really.

Fleetwood Mac's new album, Say You Will, will be released on April 15. It's their first new album to include the participation of both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham since 1987's Tango In The Night, which spawned the hit singles "Big Love" and "Little Lies." To ensure widespread promotion for the new album, Fleetwood Mac have hatched out a deal with NBC that will see them getting maximum coverage on the American network.

In turn, NBC gets early rights to the album's lead single, "Peacekeeper." "Peacekeeper" has already been debuted on NBC's prime time drama Third Watch. The week of the album's release, the Mac will be featured in some shape or form on Today every day of the week.

To cap off the week, on April 18 they'll perform on Today and be profiled in a segment on the Dateline news magazine show. Forty-somethings across the nation will be in ecstasy.

If you missed the Mac episode of Third Watch (God forbid!), "Peacekeeper" is available for paid download on the Fleetwood Mac website.

Here's a tracklisting for Say You Will, which, by the looks of it, deals with some pretty current topics:
"What's The World Coming To"
"Murrow Turning Over In His Grave"
"Illume (9/11)"
"Throw Down"
"Miranda"
"Red Rover"
"Say You Will"
"Peacekeeper"
"Come"
"Smile At You"
"Running Through The Garden"
"Silver Girl"
"Steal Your Heart Away"
"Bleed To Love Her"
"Everybody Finds Out"
"Destiny Rules"
"Say Goodbye"
"Goodbye Baby"
