If there was any time for you, young reader, to ponder the ways of the world, it's now. While ex-Black Flag singer Henry Rollins may not be the answer to all of your political questions, he may be the catalyst to get you thinking about a few things.
The spoken word guru/punk rock icon has already played a couple of Canadian dates on his spoken word tour, and it appears that the youth of Canada have responded so well that he's gone and scheduled himself some more shows.
Hank will be out West in early March and then he'll do a trio of gigs in Southern Ontario. Tickets for the Calgary and Winnipeg shows are already on sale and the Ontario tix will all be up for grabs this Thursday through Ticketmaster.
Tickets range from $19.50 to $27, with prices varying in each city. Check with your local venue for more info.
While Rollins continues to be most famous for his role in the legendary Black Flag, he always has a number of projects on the go. In addition to being the leadman in The Rollins Band and a roving spoken word performer, he's also an experienced author.
The most recent installment in his Black Coffee Blues series was 2001's Smile, You're Traveling, in which Rollins recounts his experiences abroad. Last fall he released a book of his lyrics called Songs: Collected Lyrics 1980-1992. Always a fan of hearing his own voice, Rollins has been gigging as a spoken word artist since 1983.
Here are Henry Rollins' upcoming Canadian spoken word dates.
March 9 Calgary, AB @ MacEwan Hall Ballroom
March 12 Winnipeg, MB @ Burton Cummings Theatre
March 13 Waterloo, ON @ Humanities Theatre
March 16 London, ON @ Centennial Hall
