DMX Refused Entry Into Canada

While some Canadians may heave a sigh of relief knowing that a convicted felon from the U.S. was refused entry into Canada, a few others might not see it that way.
Rapper, actor and Ruff Ryders member DMX was turned away at the border last weekend. With a set of shows scheduled in Saskatoon and Calgary, Earl "DMX" Simmons arrived safely in Calgary, but Canada Customs wouldn't allow the rapper off the plane, resulting in cancelled shows and refunds for some pretty pissed off DMX fans.
To add insult to injury, AP also noted that the six people in his "entourage" were all cleared. DMX is reportedly "upset and offended" by his treatment by the customs officials. DMX freely admitted many of his crimes and misdemeanors in his autobiography, E.A.R.L. (released last year), which recounted tales of DMX's younger thug days.
Aside from drug and alcohol abuse, there were stories of dogfighting, robbery, armed robbery, theft, grand theft and assault, as well as many visits to jail that included almost a year in solitary confinement for an undisclosed felony.
Canada Customs are currently experiencing "increased vigilance" and a customs official informed us that if a record check shows a "past record," felons are not likely allowed into the country. Or maybe DMK was simply caught trying to bring more than the legally allowable two-dozen eggs across the border.
Maybe.
If the cancelled shows weren't frustrating enough, DMX fans may be disappointed to learn that the rap artist is considering his retirement in the next couple of years.
"I don't think I'm going to be in the rap game long," he said in his autobiography. "Five years, that's it, and I've got three and a half in now."
