We've already mentioned that The Doors will be playing the big Harley Davidson show at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario on September 29 and we speculated that Ian "Lizard King Jr." Astbury could take the late Jim Morrison's spot on lead vox.

Well, kiddies, unofficial Doors leadman, Ray Manzarek, has confirmed to Billboard.com that Astbury will indeed be at the Barrie show and all other Doors shows in the future.

And that's not all.

Doors drummer John Densmore has had to cancel his participation due to a medical problem. Stewart Copeland of The Police has risen to the occasion and, according Manzarek, is now a permanent member of The Doors. Both Copeland and Astbury are expected to go into the studio with the remaining original Doors to record an album of new songs. Yeowww!

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds have just signed a deal with Anti Records, the grown-up arm of punk label Epitaph that also plays home to Tom Waits. The Bad Seeds' first Anti album, Nocturama is due out on February 11.

In big city concert news, punk rock heroes New Found Glory will be playing the Kool Haus in Toronto on October 29. NFG will be joined by Something Corporate and Finch. Other upcoming T.O. concerts include an October 2 Ron Sexsmith show at The Phoenix, Badly Drawn Boy, also at the Phoenix, on October 24 and Jack Johnson at — you got it — the Phoenix on November 17. Finally, Ani Difranco will give a solo performance on November 27 at Massey Hall.

On the other side of the country in Vancouver, the Eek-A-Mouse show, scheduled for tomorrow (September 13) night has regrettably been cancelled. Refunds are available at all points of purchase. If you do want to see an actual show, some concerts have been announced this week: Sevendust will roll into town on October 15 for a gig at the Commodore Ballroom and Beenie Man will hit the same room on October 26. Also coming up is a trio of dates from Supertramp who will play the Pacific Coliseum on September 16 and the Skyreach Place in Kelowna on September 17 and 18, Supreme Beings Of Leisure at Richard's On Richards on October 12, Mason Jennings at Richard's On Richards on October 16 and the New Deal on October 17, also at Richard's On Richards. Finally, Nickelback will be playing in Kamloops, BC on October 24 at Sportmart Place.
