Staggered Crossing Give Fame Another Try

Staggered Crossing

Toronto-based rockers Staggered Crossing have a new lineup and are getting ready to release a new album and play a few new shows.

The band will be gearing up for their CD release on August 15 with some shows in Ontario. For all those fans in western Canada, keep checking up with the band's website where they promise more tour dates will follow soon.

It's been a hectic year for the band that was flying high just over one year ago. They had relative success with the single "Further Ahead" and created a fair amount of buzz with their 2001 self-titled album. However, in the course of the year, the band got dropped from Warner Records and suffered the loss of two of their members. Bruce Adamson and Darrell O'Dea left the band last fall and have since been replaced to record the new album.

The lineup for Staggered Crossing now features JT on vocals and guitar, Dan Black on bass, Jeremy Elliott on drums and Dave Marshall on guitars. It's a formula that seems to be working well for the boys, as it reportedly only took them two weeks to record their new album. They worked with producer Jay Bennett of ex-Wilco fame and rave about the results of the partnership in an April website diary entry.

The album, cheekily titled Last Summer When We Were Famous, is set to be released August 15. They'll hold a release party kick-off that day at The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto with supporting acts March and Round 2.
