Cradle Of Filth Give Birth To New Live Album

Black metal warriors Cradle Of Filth want you to be privy to the very evil sounds of their live concert experience. They're gearing up for the September 24 release of a new two-disc set called Live Bait For The Dead.

This is the band's first go at a live album, so they decided to do it in style. Evil style, that is. Live Bait For The Dead will include all sorts of enhancements and brand new artwork. To make it even more of a must-have for Cradle fans, the album will only be released in limited edition. The first disc will feature the band live in front of 2,000 fans at Nottingham, England's Rock City on April 14, 2001. The second disc will feature some live tracks from the show's soundcheck and remixes of some songs from their album Bitter Suites To Succubi.

It also includes a couple cover tracks "No Time To Cry" by Sisters Of Mercy and Twisted Sister's "The Fire Still Burns." For all of "those people" with fetishes for such things, the album will be all set up in a super-duper slipcase with art by John Coulhart. He's the man responsible for much of that scary, gothic, angels-and-devils art that decorates all of Cradle Of Filth's incredibly naughty and controversial merch.

This will be the band's second album to come out this year. It follows up the May release of Lovecraft & Witchhearts, another double disc set featuring 24 tracks of Cradle's best. The band also has a pretty interactive website set up, which shows a surprising amount of interaction with their fans.

They have a poetry section/contest for fans to submit their work and check out their peers. You can even see pictures from one of the member's weddings. Awwww. So scary, but so touching.
