Queens Of The Stone Age And Weezer Step Into The Ring

Everybody's favourite pseudo-sport (ahem, "sports entertainment"), wrestling, is becoming progressively more rawk, and now the WWF's Tough Enough 2 Soundtrack is set to bitch slap happy fans on May 14.
It's been hard not to notice the current integration of music and big ticket wrestling events like the momentous Wrestlemania in Toronto last month. Now this new collection, shepherded by the WWF's Smackdown record label, will gather wrestling-friendly artists like Limp Bizkit, Bloodhound Gang, Staind and Rob Zombie. Eager fans awaiting this release with bated breath and a fist full of cash, can expect some new tracks from Weezer (the Weezer song carries the decidedly non-aggressive title "Oh, Lisa") and Queens Of The Stone Age as well as previously released material from other familiar names.
Check out the songs for yourself at the Interscope website — their online jukebox contains each and every song. The first of the Tough Enough compilations was released in September with songs from the like of Drowning Pool, Alien Ant Farm and Papa Roach.
Is the WWF taking over rock? Maybe artists will eventually be forced to prove themselves in the ring before being signed to a record label.
Well, there's always hope. Can you imagine a barbed-wire death match between Raine and Edwin for a record contract? Gold, baby, gold.
