Green Day And Blink-182 Coming To Toronto

It's believed that the Pop Disaster punk rock super-tour featuring Green Day and Blink-182 will be making a Canadian appearance in June. Although promoters couldn't confirm that those motley trios were crossing the border, the www.popdisaster.com website is already listing a show at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto on June 7. Promoters House Of Blues say they're going to have a major announcement in store on Monday, so it's quite possible this will be to confirm the show.
Mark, Tom and Travis of Blink-182 are no strangers to the Great White North. Just last year they brought their rock show across the country as part of the EdgeFest II extravaganza which also featured Sum 41, Jimmy Eat World, Project Wyze, Good Charlotte and a host of other upcoming pop-punk and rock acts like Simple Plan and Shocore.
As for Green Day, Mike Dirnt, Tre Cool and Billie Joe Armstrong should have no problems figuring out their way around here either. In addition to having run over a former Chart editor with a stolen golf cart (seriously, he threw a can of Sprite at them afterwards), Green Day were also part of the big Edgefest '98 tour which had them cross the country with the likes of The Tea Party, Moist, Foo Fighters, Sloan and Bif Naked.
We're sure all this reminiscing is making you wonder if there's going to be an Edgefest again this year, and if so, what form would it take? From what we understand, some sort of event under the banner "Edgefest" may happen again this summer. As for guessing the bands involved, we suggest using the following formula: Canadian bands with new records coming out + up-and-coming international acts + a big American band.
As such, we're guessing if there was to be an Edgefest, it might include: Sum 41, Simple Plan, Swollen Members, Shocore, Project Wyze, I Mother Earth, Headstrong, Starsailor, Korn and Dashboard Confessional. Don't hold us to any of this though.
