The Dears Announce Giant Tour

It's been a while since we've mentioned The Dears (admittedly an odd turn of events for us here at ChartAttack), but the Montreal pop-noir sensations now have just announced a whole bunch of news.
Still happily promoting their latest album, No Cities Left, The Dears are about to set off on a Canadian tour that will kick off in Montreal this Saturday (September 27). The Montreal show will be a special one, with The Dears doing a 90-minute set with the Brebeuf Brass. Tickets for the gig, at O Patro Vys, will only be available at the doors (which open at 9 p.m.) and they'll only be able to squeeze about 150 fans into the room.
Saskatoon's Junior Pantherz will be opening the gig. From there, The Dears will tour through Eastern Canada and then down the East Coast of the U.S. before taking a swing through Western Canada and down the West Coast of the U.S. with MapleMusic's latest darlings Pilate taking the opening spot on the Canadian bits of the tour.
See the dates that they've cooked up so far below and check back with the official Dears website as new dates are announced. Finally, we should mention that Dears guitarist and ex-Thrush Hermit dude Rob Benvie left the band. Benvie has given up (temporarily, at least) the rock 'n' roll lifestyle to become a student at the University Of Toronto. C
