Before delving into the wonder that is Roth Radio, ChartAttack feels it should make the following clear: we've still got no idea whether or not David Lee Roth is reuniting with his Van Halen teammates to salvage the band's reputation from sully-dom.

For what it's worth, we hope they'll be getting back together soon, if only to hear Roth completely retransform "Right Here, Right Now" into an ode to topless chicks.

Anyway, the real news here is that the former VH front man/acrobat is starting up his own 24-hour online music show. He'll be pumping out scores of songs from his own personal hits catalogue, as well as unreleased tracks and live performances. It should be good stuff. Although, if he had other classic artists' music programmed with his own witty comments we'd tune in more often.

Here's his explanation of what is going on:

"The 'net will be alive 24/7 with Diamond David Lee Roth's brand spankin' new, ear-blastin', blood pumpin', rock 'til ya drop ROTH RADIO! You're gonna have to pry those speakers from your ears once we're done! IT'S DAVE OR THE GRAVE!"

Uh, right.

In any case, the official launch of the free online music service is set for this Sunday, July 15 at rothradio.com. Also on the site (which purports to "ride to the code of the cactus"), is your chance to win the "I Rocked Roth Radio Contest!" The winner can score every remastered VH album (that probably translates into everything featuring vocalists not named Hagar or Cherone) signed by the Man himself, along with the chance to program Roth Radio for the day.

Meanwhile, Big Daddy Diamond Dave's modestly-titled "David Lee Roth Saves The Day Tour" continues to wage war across the U.S., but sadly there's still no indication he'll be bringing "I'm Just A Gigolo" north of the border. Looks like we're gonna have to keep waiting for the destined VH reunion tour or listening to Roth Radio to feed our Dave fix...
