New Nickelback On Its Way

Both Canada And America Will Soon Get Another Taste Of The 'Back.

Good news is on the way for Nickelback fans: not only is the release of the debut album by Default (NB frontman Chad Kroeger's prodigies) on its way, but the 'Back themselves have just completed work on a new album, Silver Side Up.

The disc, due sometime in early September, is the follow-up to 1999's The State. Although track listing details beyond the initial single ("How You Remind Me" — which shipped to radio two days ago) are still sketchy at this point, there are reportedly 12 songs and an acoustic "bonus" cut.

Nickelback fans already probably have a good idea of what a lot of the new album sounds like, though, as the band's been playing a few of the songs in concert over the last few months.

As well, Nickelback will also be continuing to build on some of the accolades garnered by The State south of the border with an American release. They've already had some measure of success in the States, playing well-received shows (including a televised stint on Farmclub) and managing to crack Billboard's Top 200.

The band, which took the Juno for best new group earlier this year, intends to continue touring North America in support of the new disc once their two-week tour of duty in Germany is finished. As usual, Chartattack will keep you informed when official dates are released.
