MGB vs. OLP - The Rumble In The Jungle Part II

With our summer vacant of blockbuster movie sequels and life in the ChartAttack Office Of Sarcasm being rather dull, we read something that needed a wee bit more attention.
Matt Good has been letting it fly again lately in interviews and his targets are all the usual suspects.
Could this be another summer of Goodism? Whether the eccentric genius monkey intended this as a Rumble In The Jungle part two or not, we'd like to think so. He was slinging his words a la the great Muhammad Ali when he stated to daily newspaper the Toronto Sun that Canadian music is 10 years behind the times.
"The proof is in Our Lady Peace. OLP recycle the same shit over and over again. I'm not going to say that (MGB's 1996 debut) Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts was a great record — I think it's the biggest piece of shit known to mankind. Underdogs is slightly better, though not much. Beautiful Midnight's better than that."
He's been stinging plenty of people like a bee with his laudable outspoken hot-headed boasts, reminding us another braggart, boxing great Muhammad Ali.
Our Ali also took stabs at Canada's Evander Holyfield of rock, The Tragically Hip.
"When I talk about things inside this country, I don't limit myself to hockey and Kingston."
"It's hard to be humble, when you're as great as I am," Ali once quipped. It's only a matter of time before Good faces off against OLP or the Hip again. We've got dibs on the name "The Thrilla In Bramptilla."
