Breeders In The Studio... Again?

If Anyone Remembers Them The Breeders Are In Studio
After almost five years of rumours, it seems that The Breeders may actually be creating a new album.

According to NME and Billboard, The Breeders have been working with producer Steve Albini and Billboard claims that the band have even committed several songs to tape.

Since the smashing success of their second album, 1993's Last Splash, nary a new song has been seen from the band until this year. Rumours of the band parting ways, new projects and co-vocalist/guitarist's Kelley Deal's arrest from drug-related offences have kept remaining fans pessimistic about the return of The Breeders.

Billboard reports that both Deal and twin sister Kim have been recording "sporadically in the last year, despite a few missing band members. Currently playing with The Breeder sisters are Jose Mendeles and Fear punkers Mondo Lopez and Richard Presley, but it isn't known whether the band's current line-up will appear on the album.

After a surprise show in L.A. in March, the Breeders showcased new material, some of which has been committed to tape in the studio. New songs (that may or may not appear on a forthcoming album) are "Too Alive," "Fire The Maid," "London Song," "Forced To Drive" and "Put On A-Side."

Like 54-40, The Breeders have been also found guilty of domesticated side projects. While 54-40 has a bassist that invents coffee pot cozies, The Breeders' Kelley Deal has taken to knitting handbags... Very fuzzy handbags.
