Alanis Makes Friends With Tricky

Maybe her nearly noticeable turn onstage in the Vagina Monologues inspired her to chuck the drama crap and quickly get back into the studio. But it wasn't on her own —it was in trip-hop's dark master Tricky's pad.
The man who brought us the magnificent Maxinquaye has just completed his latest product, Blowback, which is expected to drop in stores June 26. Alanis Morissette, our fine rockin' chick, is just one of many artists appearing on the record. Alanis has always been a fan of Tricky's and they crossed paths sometime in the midst of their busy rock star schedules.
Alanis joins other formidable guest star artists like Live's Ed Kowalczyk, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Cyndi Lauper, who Tricky describes as "one of the greatest singers I've ever heard."
Besides just laying down the finishing touches on her latest, as-yet-untitled, album Alanis's in the midst of a huge European tour, with one lone special stop in her hometown of Ottawa on Canada Day July 1.
