Sum 41 Phenomena Continues To Grow

It's hard to believe or even take seriously, but those fat pant wearing punks from Ajax, ON, Sum 41, are on the verge of conquering the U.S. underground with their album, All Killer, No Filler. Some people are even pegging them as the next Blink 182, who they're on tour with in the States.
Already the major U.S. retail chain Best Buy expects All Killer, No Filler to debut at the number two spot on their chart, with Target Stores anticipating the same. The overwhelming fan response comes from the fact their song, "Fat Lip" is number 27 and moving quickly higher on Modern Rock charts in the U.S.
L.A. radio station KROQ is all over this song along with MTV who has them at number 18 on their countdown. Their hot band reputation is only going to become even bigger when they make an appearance on an upcoming episode (June 22) of the Craig Kilborn Show. Already their gig at the El Mocambo this Saturday (May 12) in Toronto is sold-out. Those who didn't get tickets can see the band perform at MuchMusic at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Canadian radio has been pretty friendly to Sum 41 with their song rocking out at the number 27 position on rock radio charts.
"Even those with severely short attention spans can handle this one," reads their press release.
Of course, if you're a regular reader of ChartAttack you knew this band was going to be bigger than the pants they wear. We've been down with their antics for ages and look forward to their upcoming record release party with anxious anticipation considering the last one had strippers. The laminate reads, "No Laminate. No Free Booze" and we're so down with that.
